Our energy body/field is a feedback system that receives and transmits energy, constantly interacting with its surrounding environment, both internal and external. It is impacted by thoughts and emotions, the state of the physical body, and various outer influences.
INFLUENCES
1) Your wiring
We all take physical form with different energy signatures, and so we are all wired differently. Fields can be naturally open, closed, magnetic, reflective, etc. The possibilities are varied, but how you are wired is not a mistake. Specific roles require a specific energy signature. The key is learning to understand your personal field and how to maintain it in your unique way.
2) What you ingest
What you ingest is not limited to physical ingestion. It includes everything taken in, such as food, drink, media, environment, electronics, etc. Everything you see, hear, touch, taste, feel, and are exposed to is ingested and ultimately incorporated into your energy body.
3) Electronics
Both electronics and drugs/alcohol (#4) are a part of what you ingest, but because both are so prolific in our modern culture, they will be addressed independently. The electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs) emitted by our current electronic technology are not in harmony with the frequencies of our energetic fields and can cause disturbances. This is impossible to avoid in our modern world but we can reduce exposure and mitigate the effects. You can reduce exposure by removing TVs from bedrooms, not sleeping near your phone, turning Wi-Fi routers off at night, reducing screen time in general, and avoiding the use of wireless earbuds (instead use wired headphones instead). Being in nature restores balance to the energetic field. If you can’t regularly get out in nature, plants, salt lamps, crystals, stones and fountains are helpful.
4) Excessive drug and alcohol use
It is common to feel very off after consuming any mood-altering (consciousness-altering) substance. This is not limited to physical, mental or emotional symptoms but also extends to the energetic system. This is because drugs and alcohol weaken the field and open it up in an unbalanced way. Awareness is key; it is important to be conscious of what and how much of a substance you are consuming and why. Abstaining from substances may be preferable or even necessary for some individuals.
5) Your other bodies
The state of your physical body and everything you think (mental body) and feel (emotional body) influences your energetic field and vice versa. When we neglect our physical body, indulge in chronic negative thinking, repress emotions, or allow wounding and trauma to go unprocessed, all of this gets caught in the energy field. This is where blocks come from, which hinder energy flow through our meridian and chakra systems. We can become stuck, repeating old cycles and unable to move forward. Eventually, if not dealt with, this can develop into mental, emotional and/or physical imbalances (dis-ease). Holistic health requires that we care for all aspects of ourselves, physical, mental, emotional and energetic.
6) Other fields
Our personal fields are connected to and impacted by other energy bodies, both individual and collective. When we interact with another field, energy flows between them. Interactions are not limited to physical contact; when we think about someone or something, we are energetically connecting to them/it. We are also constantly interacting with a collective energy field. We determine what we connect to through our focus, conscious and subconscious.
What is allowed to enter and remain in your field is up to you. To understand this, think of your energetic body as a house. It is your personal domain and you decide who is invited in and how it is maintained. How would your house look if you allowed anyone to come and go and never cleaned it? This will give you an idea of what happens in an energy field without proper care.
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
The state of our own field dictates how affected we are by external influences. It is easy to feel powerless because there are so many things in the world that can impact us, especially if we are energetically sensitive. However, all of these influences actually serve a very high purpose: they are here to make us aware of our energetic body and invite us to accept responsibility for it. Ultimately, you have control over what you allow to enter your field, or at the very least, what you allow to remain in it. It isn’t about shutting down or expecting others or the world to change; we must learn to be in this world and accept stewardship of our energetic body. It is your personal responsibility to educate yourself on your field's intricacies and requirements and maintain it. Over time, a well-maintained field grows stronger and more resilient and is less impacted by external influences. Understanding this and learning to live in a way that supports energetic health is ultimate empowerment and freedom. This is a part of being energetically responsible.
ENERGETIC HYGIENE
The easiest way to understand the maintenance of the energy body is to compare it to the physical one. The natural state of our physical body is one of balance, health, and immunity. To keep this system functioning properly, we need to maintain our physical body, or it becomes weakened. With prolonged neglect, the situation may worsen and illness can occur. Once in this state, it takes more effort to regain health. Our energetic field operates on the same principle of needing regular care; this is known as energetic hygiene or maintenance, which goes beyond physical, mental and emotional health. Our overall health and quality of life benefit greatly from maintenance techniques specific to the energy field.
The ways to undertake energetic hygiene are numerous and an individual choice. Begin to research topics such as energetic clearing, psychic hygiene, psychic protection, aura cleansing, energy field fortification, meditation, visualization, energy work, Violet Flame, transmutation, chakras and energy meridians.
